TO ensure the needs of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Air Itam are well addressed, RM23,600 was distributed to them today.

In a simple yet meaningful ceremony, Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng presented the funds to 11 NGOs.

“It is my pleasure to assist them, especially during these challenging times. It is my responsibility to ensure the organisations’ welfare is fully supported,” he said before handing over the aid at Desa Mawar.

Since becoming the constituency’s elected representative in 2018, Ng has consistently allocated funds to NGOs, recognising their crucial role in society.

“We value their sacrifices for society during times of need,” he added.

The recipients were St John Ambulance Malaysia, Red Crescent Society, Persatuan Bomba Sukarela Paya Terubong, Pasukan Bomba Sukarela Kampong Pisang, Pasukan Bomba dan Penyelamat Sukarela Bukit Bendera, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ruyi, Pertubuhan Penganut Dewan Loh Chia San Tai Cu, Persatuan Dewan Sri Tharma, Special Children’s Centre Penang, Persatuan Kebajikan dan Sukarelawan Mutiara, and Persatuan Komuniti Pasukan Tindakan Cemas George Town.
