SOME 120 participants are set to vie for the coveted title in the upcoming annual Mr Penang 2024 competition, scheduled to take place at G Hotel on June 22.
The participants will compete against each other for the esteemed recognition within the state, which serves as a stepping stone to international contests such as Mr Asia, Mr Commonwealth, Mr Olympia, and Mr Universe.
Organised by the Penang Body Building Association (PBBA), with support from the Penang State Sports Council, the body-building championship aims to cultivate potential athletes.
PBBA deputy president Yeap Tzu Tsing said the sports field provides an excellent platform for nurturing high-quality bodybuilding talent.
“Mr Penang 2024 will showcase the prime physiques of Penang, further solidifying its reputation as a favoured destination within the bodybuilding community.
“We advocate for promoting bodybuilding exposure, embracing diversity, and achieving excellence through unwavering dedication and commitment.
“We hope the upcoming Mr Penang 2024 will be a hit with the people of Penang,” he said during a press conference.
Among those who attended the event were state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Daniel Gooi, and Penang State Sports Council director Harry Chai.
