13,000 expected to attend conference in Penang

SOME 13,000 participants from foreign countries will be attending the V Conference at Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang from Sept 13 to 17.

QI group managing director Kuna Senathirajah said this would be the eighth time in seven years that they have chosen Penang to host the conference.

“We enjoy Penang island,” Kuna told Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow when he led a four-member delegation from V Con to pay a courtesy call on the latter at his office in Komtar today.

The others were Pathman Senathirajah (director of marketing and sales), Dev Johl (chief executive officer of V Global Management) and Vijiyar Thevan (head of events, V. Global Management).

Also present was Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau chief executive officer Ashwin Gunasekeran.

Pathman said the purpose of the conference was basically to motivate their marketing force. Most of the participants will be from India. The others will be from countries such as Indonesia, the Middle East, Russia and Africa.

Chow said the state government, on its part, would give its support to the event.
