64 teams vying for honours in Wangan Midnight 5DX Games

WANGAN Midnight 5DX Games is one of the popular games held at amusement theme parks in the world.

Every year there are a lot of such tournaments around the world.

“Today, one of the tournaments is here in Classic World, Penang,” state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said when he officiated the launching of the tournament at Prangin Mall in George Town on May 25.

Soon expressed hopes that the event could bring a positive impact to the community and build up a healthy ecosystem in Penang.

“As I have been told, this event is participated by 64 teams from some countries in Asia with each team consisting of two players.

“They are Hong Kong , the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia,” he said.

Soon congratulated Wangan Midnight 5DX Games 2019’s adviser Datuk H’ng Ban Choon and his crew for making the event a success.

Also present were Malaysian Association of Amusement Theme Park & Family Attraction’s (MAATFA) president Tan Sri Richard Koh, and representatives from Bandai Namco Japan, Yoshihide Tameto and Takahide Oyama.

The two-day tournament, from May 25 to 26, starts from 11am until 7pm.

The winners will receive RM8,000 and a trophy, while the second placed tean will receive RM2,000 and a trophy, and the third placed team will take home RM500 and a trophy.
