Green projects to be shown to APUF-7 delegates

PENANG will showcase its green pedestrian-friendly projects to the delegates of the 7th Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF-7), the largest urban forum in Asia.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the participants from APUF-7 would be exposed to the social and infrastructure projects in town.

“The projects are Business Improvement District (BIDS) in Gurdwara Road, a park in Sia Boey, Acheh Street’s heritage buildings and also efforts by state government to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.

The APUF-7 is held from Oct 15 to Oct 17.

Chow added that those who are in Penang for the first time would have an opportunity to explore the state’s natural surroundings, heritage and traditional villages.

“This is a great opportunity to visit Penang,” he said.

The delegates treated to stage performance at the event.

At the event, many of the delegates and distinguished guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner.

Among the delectables were char koay teow, laksa, tosai, murtabak, prawn noodles and local delicacies.
