Another section of Caring Society Complex turned into LRCC

NON-GOVERNMENTAL organisation Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia has again helped to set up a low-risk Covid-19 centre (LRCC) at the Caring Society Complex – this time, four rooms at the lower level of the complex were converted to LRCC.

The upper level hall of the complex was turned into LRCC on Nov 17 to cater to those who are asymptomatic and are under observation.

It is learnt that the upper level hall has been fully occupied.

The materials needed for the installation works arrived at Caring Society Complex.

Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia commissioner Khoo Boo Leong said the NGO was approached by the Penang Hospital on Nov 29 to prepare the four rooms on the lower level and turn them into LRCC.

“A discussion was subsequently held on Nov 30.

“Tzu-Chi supplied and installed laminated flooring boards with 2-in-1 plastics and PE foam underlay for the four rooms, totalling 6,200sq ft.

The installation works are being carried out to turn the four rooms into a low-risk Covid-19 centre.

“We also donated 100 sets of mattress and pillow, as well as eight stand fans. In addition, we lent 100 multi-purpose foldable beds,” he said.

Khoo said installation works began on Dec 2 and they were completed within a day.

“We hope to deliver the latest LRCC to the Penang Hospital today (Dec 4),” Khoo told Buletin Mutiara when contacted.

Khoo said Tzu-Chi is committed to support the frontliners in their battle against the Covid-19.

“We need to be united against this pandemic. We need to break the chain of infection,” he added.
