ROAD users in Seri Delima are enjoying smoother rides after several roads in Island Park, Greenlane, have been successfully paved.
Seri Delima assemblyman Syerleena Abdul Rashid said the paving works were conducted from June 23 to July 6.
“Several roads, namely, Jalan Besi, Tingkat Besi, Tingkat Besi 1 and 2, Lintang Besi, Jalan Gangsa, Lorong Gangsa and Lintang Gangsa, have been paved to ensure the safety of road users.
“I would like to thank the Penang Island City Council (MBPP), the Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) and contractor Matlamat Murni Sdn Bhd for their hard work,” she said after visiting the site in Jalan Gangsa today.
Syerleena also thanked the residents in Seri Delima for their patience.
She said the cost of the project was RM445,033.
Island Park MPKK chairman Tan Seang Aun thanked Syerleena and the parties involved for listening to the concerns of the residents.
“We received some feedback from the residents that there were portholes on the roads. Thank you for promptly addressing the matter and keeping the road users safe,” he said.
Island Park MPKK secretary Quah Boon Lim said the MPKK received positive feedback from the road users after the paving works were completed.
MBPP engineering division representative Rohayu Mohamed Rashid said the council is ever ready to assist the rakyat.
“We look forward to work together with the public,” she said.
Also present were her colleague Nur Dayana Fadzil and Green Lane Heights MPKK chairman Yeap Kean Chye.
