THIS year’s International Earth Day celebration has become more meaningful with the launching of a poetry book entitled ‘Here: Poems for Our Planet’.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow spoke highly of the book which contained 128 poems, written by some renowned poets including those from Penang.
Some places of Penang were also mentioned in the poems.
The book also contained subsections on Connecting with the Media, Reaching Out to Your Representatives, Finding Your Power in Numbers and Meeting The Challenges of Climate Change.
“This book promotes green living. It is my privilege to launch it,” Chow said in his speech at Hin Bus Depot in Jalan Gurdwara today.
Chow added that the book was a stepping stone towards raising greater environmental awareness.
