NON-GOVERNMENTAL organisations (NGOs) plays a pivotal role in assisting the community in Penang, says Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
He expressed appreciation for their valuable contributions, commending their efforts in assisting the needy.
“While Penang maintains its status as a developed state with controlled poverty levels, a social service organisation, I Sayang Community Care, remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the B40 group within the state.
“We genuinely appreciate its generous gesture in extending a helping hand,” he said after attending a blood donation campaign in Simpang Ampat today.
The underprivileged group received essential packets from I Sayang Community Care, alongside a blood donation campaign organised by the same organisation during the event.
Chow noted it was the fifth year such an event took place, adding that it was a noble effort from the I Sayang Community Care.
He hoped that the blood donation campaign could provide a boost to the blood bank in the hospital.
At the end of the event, Chow visited the health booths located on-site.
Among those present were Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik and Bukit Tambun MPKK staff.
