CAT lovers can now gather at the Penang International Cat Fiesta 2023, hosted at 1st Avenue shopping mall, from today until Sunday.
Organised by the World Cat Federation (WCF), the event offers a wide array of activities throughout the weekend.
State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said 150 cats would be showcased during the three-day event.
“This is an unique event as it involves a special jury internationally with esteemed judges from Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Latvia.
“From this fiesta, we celebrate the various species of cats and the public can have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the rare species of cats.
“This fiesta is expected to promote Penang in the tourism industry as well,” he said after attending the event today.
Yeoh further encouraged cat enthusiasts to attend the event as it provides an educational platform to learn more about different cat species.
Also present were Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng and Malaysia Cat Council representative Ebita Herawaty.
