TO make the Christmas celebration more meaningful, Tech Dome Penang held a special celebration called ‘Chemistry Christmas’ for some 250 underprivileged children yesterday, at its centre in Komtar.
The children were from SJKT Perai, SJKC Sum Min, The Salvation Army Penang, Ramakrishna Ashrama Penang, Peace Children Care Centre, Penang Shan Children’s Home, Shan Children’s Home (Taman Inderawasih) and Selflessness Together Penang.
They were also accompanied by about 30 teachers.
Apart from the science experiments, the children were also treated to a scrumptious luncheon at the event.
The children were excited by the special appearance of Tech Dome Penang’s mascot, TD Bot, as well as Santa Claus.
The children had a jolly good time exploring the world of chemistry, making fluffy snow and snow globes.
Tech Dome Penang chief executive officer Khoo Boo Wooi thanked Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy and state executive councillor Chong Eng for sponsoring the event.
Khoo also thanked Cool Magic School Education, another sponsor of the event, for its support.
The musical performance by D’Art Team also made the Christmas celebration much merrier.
