PENANG House of Music (PHoM) is an ideal place for musicians as well as music lovers to get together to share ideas and experiences and also the general public to learn about the livelihood of Penang music talents and their rise to stardom.
“It is a potential tourist attraction and also a spot for visitors to discover the music of Penang and her musicians, their many contributions to the heart and soul of the state and the nation,” Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said after being taken for a tour of PHoM this morning by its founder and director Paul Augustin.
PHoM boasts of a Radio Room, Resource Centre, Cinema Room, Gallery, Interactive Fun section and a Black Box space.
Meanwhile, Augustin also said PHoM is a venue where ‘stories, sights and sounds inspired by the rich diversity of Penang’s musical heritage’ comes alive.
“CNN has once rated PHoM as the top 10 out of 25 spots to visit.
“We are delighted to be informed that Monash University of Australia has plans to work with us next year for projects related to re-generation of music,” Augustin stressed.
