CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow visited ViTrox Corporation Bhd in Batu Kawan Industrial Park this morning and gained invaluable insight on the company’s origin, vision and built ecosystem with strong emphasis on its work ethics, willingness to serve as well as the need to strike a work-recreation balance for its staff members.
Chow and his entourage which included assemblymen Goh Choon Aik (Bukit Tambun) and H’ng Mooi Lye (Jawi) were briefed by ViTrox managing director Chu Jenn Weng who shared his vision and the history of the company which he founded with his business partner Steven Siaw Kok Tong in year 2000.
The Penang-based company, which was listed in the MESDAQ (ACE) Market in 2005 and subsequently transferred to Main Board Bursa Malaysia under the Technology sector in 2009, currently employs 581 people with a total market cap of RM3.5 billion.
Its core products include Machine Vision System (MVS), Automated Board Inspection (ABI), Electronics Communication System (ECS) and Industry 4.0 Smart Solutions.
ViTrox also has a wide range of CSR activities which centre around volunteerism at times of emergency such as during the November 2017 flood which badly hit Penang and donation for Syrian Refugee Children. The rank and file of ViTrox, fondly called ViTroxians, have collectively contributed close to 4,500 volunteer hours and the company donated approximately RM60,000 to various charity organisations through its V-Serve Programme.
