Aid for crash victim’s family

WHERE misfortune befalls, injuries follow but in this unfortunate case it was death for Mohd. Husni Hamid, 29, as he had a fatal accident on his way to work on Sept 13.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who was at a press conference on Sept 22 to offer his condolences, said: “We will investigate further about the contractor for the area of the accident as there have been many reports of accidents in that particular area. Action will be taken if this is found to be the contractor’s fault.”

Lim also offered cash aid of RM 1,000 to the family.

The victim’s brother, Halil Sabri Hamid, who was present to receive the aid from Lim, expressed his gratitude to the state government for its kindness and for caring for the safety of the people.

Exco member for Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Phee Boon Poh and Air Itam assemblymember and political secretary to the Chief Minister Wong Hon Wai were also at the press conference to offer their condolences to the victim’s family.

Mohd. Husni was said to have slipped on the road while riding on his motorcycle and collided with a RapidPenang bus coming from the opposite direction.
