PENANG boasts a rich industrial heritage and has evolved into a high-tech manufacturing hub, making it a prime location for discussions on Industry 5.0.
Hashtaqs founder and managing director Renee Tan said the next industrial revolution integrates artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, digital innovation, deep tech, green tech, and sustainable manufacturing, set to redefine the industry.
“Penang is already at the forefront of technological adoption and innovation,” she told a media conference at Komtar today, announcing the upcoming Advance Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Asia Week 2024 on Sept 3 and 4 at St Giles The Wembley Hotel.
Tan announced that AIM Asia Week 2024 will be held in Penang for the first time in eight years.
“We expect over 200 delegates, comprising global industry leaders, innovators, investors, and government representatives to discuss the future of sustainable manufacturing and the transition towards Industry 5.0.
“Penang’s strategic location within Asean makes it an ideal meeting point for a global network of businesses, including those from the United States, Europe, Singapore, China, and beyond.
“Our focus on sustainable manufacturing practices and green technology aligns with the need to meet the environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals, to which Penang is committed.
“AIM Asia Week 2024 will showcase how the latest technologies can be leveraged for a more sustainable future,” she said.
Tan added that the organiser aspired to attract investments, forge strong business connections with key markets, elevate Penang on the global stage, and create growth opportunities across the region.
“We are confident this event will be a milestone in our journey towards Industry 5.0. Together, we can shape the future of manufacturing and build a legacy of progress and prosperity,” she added.
Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII) founder and managing director Dr James Ong described AIM Asia Week 2024 as a global event that focuses on three key frontiers – top leadership, ecosystem, and networking.
Based in Singapore and Shanghai, AIII is an AI think tank that advocates the vision of Sustainable AI for Humanity.
The two-day event will be organised by Hashtaqs. AIII is among the ecosystem partners of AIM Asia Week 2024. The Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) and InvestPenang are strategic partners.
