VARIOUS organisations, as well as a school in the Air Putih neighbourhood, received financial assistance from its assemblyman Lim Guan Eng today at the Air Putih service centre today.
Lim presented a total of RM19,700 to the respective organisations, namely Pertubuhan Dewa Kuan Tay Seng Koon (RM 1,200), Persatuan Wushu Ding Feng Pulau Pinang (RM3,500), Persatuan Penganut Dewa Phor Thor, Taman Air Itam (RM10,000) as well as Sri Tharma Muniswarer Temple, Jalan Lintang (RM3,000) and SJKC Kong Ming Pusat management committee (RM2,000).
The representatives of the various organisations who were present during the cheque presentation ceremony were Quah Tze Thoon (Pertubuhan Dewa Kuan Tay Seng Koon), Vincent Khor (Persatuan Wushu Ding Feng Pulau Pinang), Murugiah Muniandy (Sri Tharma Muniswarer Temple) and Loke HK (Persatuan Penganut Dewa Phor Thor), while SJKC Kong Ming Pusat management committee was represented by Lee Khim Hup.
Later, Lim visited the Klinik Kesihatan Air Itam to celebrate the International Nurses Day and Mother’s Day with the staff at the clinic.
As a gesture of honouring the nurses, Lim presented packets of McDonald’s meal as well as gifts to all the women staff in conjunction with the Mother’s Day which was celebrated yesterday (May 14).
The International Nurses Day is observed on May 12 to commemorate the birthday of Florence Nightingale, a British nurse who was a pioneer of modern nursing.
She is also known as ‘The Lady with the Lamp’.
Also accompanying Lim were Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng and MBPP councillor R.Kaliyappan.
