PENANG Hospital today received five oxygen concentrators from a group of thoughtful Malaysians who are working in Singapore.
According to Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng, the individuals who wish to stay anonymous, wanted to help meet the demand of the healthcare system in Penang.
“These individuals had called up the Penang Hospital to offer assistance to enhance its healthcare facilities, and they were informed that the hospital needed oxygen concentrators.
“So, they managed come up with the medical equipment which cost nearly RM 20,000 using their personal contribution.
“Thank you for your thoughts. This is truly a help done out of love and compassion as well as on humanitarian basis.
“I was also informed that some Singaporeans have also contributed to this good cause,” said Ng during the handover ceremony at the Penang Hospital today.
Ng added that the group of individuals had contacted him to facilitate the handing over of the medical equipment to Penang Hospital.
“The oxygen concentrators would be used for stage 3 Covid-19 patients.
“For those who would like to assist the hospitals in Penang in any form, you can contact your respective state assemblymen,’’ added Ng.
