If so, don’t miss the ‘Breakthrough Happens Here: Art Speaks 3.0 – A Visual Odyssey’ exhibition! This inspiring student art showcase celebrates creativity, talent, and community, organised by Fairview International School Penang in collaboration with Rose Charities Malaysia, Blessed Entertainment Enterprises, The One Academy, and Straits Quay Mall.

Running from Oct 1 to Dec 22 at The Art Room, Straits Quay Mall, the exhibition is open Monday to Friday (11am to 5pm) and Saturday to Sunday (11am to 7pm). Admission is free, and proceeds from art sales will be donated to Rose Charities Malaysia.

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who officiated the exhibition, praised it not only for showcasing the students’ artistic creativity but also for embodying the values of education, culture, and community development crucial to Penang’s growth and aspirations.

“Penang’s cultural identity has long been intertwined with the arts, and our Unesco-recognised capital, George Town, owes much of its fame to its vibrant artistic heritage.

“From our colonial architecture to world-famous street art, these creative expressions tell the story of our history and values. Exhibitions like this carry on that tradition, giving the next generation a platform to share their unique perspectives,” said Chow.

He also encouraged the public to visit the exhibition, emphasising how their support would enrich the young artists’ journeys and contribute to Penang’s vibrant cultural and educational landscape.

 

“As we work toward the Penang2030 vision, it is through initiatives like this – where education, creativity, and community converge – that Penang will continue to thrive as a hub of innovation, inclusivity, and cultural vitality,” added Chow.

 

Rose Charities Malaysia president Datuk Seri Lawrence Cheah stressed that art is more than an expressive medium; it serves as a bridge connecting people to share their thoughts, emotions, and stories.

“I believe the works on display will inspire us all to see the world through these young artists’ eyes and appreciate their vision.

 

“I congratulate all the students for their incredible achievements, and I hope this exhibition marks the beginning of an exciting journey where their talents continue to grow and their passion for art endures,” said Cheah.

 

Also present were Fairview International School Penang Board of Governors chairman Daniel Chian, principal Ann Lim, Blessed Entertainment Enterprises director Annie Toh, Straits Quay senior manager Ch’ng Win Sern, and The One Academy representative Kathy Ong.
