THE Penang Tourism Development, Arts, Culture and Heritage (PETACH) is planning to hold the ArtPenang 2020 in June next year (2020) and is welcoming proposals from art practitioners.
Its Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said that the call for proposal would be open until Sept 15 this year.
“Art practitioners are invited to submit their proposals. It can either be art exhibition, workshop or other art programmes.
“We hope to promote Penang by making art the centre of its activities.
“We hope the event can allow visitors to check out various art activities on both the Penang island and the mainland. The venues have yet to be decided,” he told a press conference in Komtar today.
Yeoh said that ArtPenang 2020 could be held for a period of two weeks.
“ArtPenang 2020 can be a regional platform for artists and art lovers to engage with one another,” he said.
Yeoh added that interested proposers could send in as many proposals as they wish.
“The proposal shall include the programme concept, budget and the portfolio of the artist,” he said.
