A PENANG state assemblyman has distributed some 1,500 face masks and bottles of hand sanitisers to his constituents in view with the current virus outbreak.
Bagan Jermal assemblyman Soon Lip Chee and his team handed out 800 face masks and bottles of sanitisers to market-goers at the Sri Uda market today.
He had earlier distributed 700 face masks and bottles of sanitisers to market-goers at Mak Mandin market last Sunday (April 5).
He said the constituents welcomed his effort during this challenging period.
“All these contributions come from my own constituency allocation.
“It is important to ensure that the people are practising social distancing and personal hygiene during this time.
“Always wash your hands frequently and avoid crowded area at all cost.
“I hope the people will continue to adhere to the ongoing movement control order (MCO),” the state Youth and Sports Committee chairman said.
Soon said he also noticed that the residents had complied with MCO compared when the order was first enforced on March 18.
