FROM all indications, the Bangkok Lane kopitiam owner and the mee goreng operator will be parting ways after six months, says Pulau Tikus assemblyman Chris Lee.
It was reported earlier that the operator, Mahboob Md Zakarih was told to vacate his stall from a kopitiam where he has been running his business for many years.
Lee said that following negotiation, the kopitiam owner has now given a grace period of six months (till Aug 31) for Mahboob to relocate his stall.
“We don’t know what has happened between them, but I just hope that during this six-month period they would eventually patch up and continue their long partnership.
“Basically, the difference of opinions between both the parties has led them to go their separate ways. I have spoken to both sides, and they have their respective reasons. I hope everyone will respect their rights to privacy.
“If they still cannot reconcile, then as the state assemblyman of Pulau Tikus, I would try my best to find new premises within this constituency for Mahboob to continue his business, and also help the kopitiam in the transition after that”, said Lee.
