OVER the past 10 years, there has been rapid industrial growth in Batu Kawan, providing abundant opportunities for further commercial and other developments in this township, says Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Chow said this when he attended the opening ceremony of the A-Park@Batu Kawan Sales Gallery at Bandar Cassia, Batu Kawan today.
“As we stand here today, we are witnessing the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and visionary leadership.
“The A-Park @ Batu Kawan represents not only a physical space but also a symbol of our collective commitment to progress, innovation, and sustainable development particularly here in Batu Kawan.
“Batu Kawan’s journey has been marked by resilience, innovation, and unwavering determination.
“It is a journey that reflects the spirit of Penang’s economic vitality and cultural richness, a testament to our ability to overcome challenges and seize opportunities,” Chow said.
He added that the opening of the second bridge has played a crucial role in connecting the Batu Kawan neighbourhood.
Chow also thanked the various state and Federal agencies for their contributions to bringing investment into Penang.
He expressed his gratitude to Transport Minister Anthony Loke for the Federal government’s approval of the Penang International Airport’s (PIA) expansion plan and also the LRT project.
Chow also extended his appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his invaluable support and guidance during the unveiling of Batu Kawan Industrial Park 3 (BKIP 3) last month.
“This reaffirmed the significance of Penang’s contributions to the nation’s economic prosperity.
“We also have enough land to meet the foreign direct investment (FDI) needs over the next five years,” Chow added.
Chow also shared his optimism and hope for the future with the development of the A-Park@Batu Kawan.
It is learned that A-Park provides 50 Light Industrial Factory units, allowing companies to collaborate and benefit from synergies with customers and suppliers.
At the event, a memorandum signing ceremony also took place between Ancubic Group and the ESG Association of Malaysia.
Ancubic Group was represented by Datin Kimilee You, the Ancubic Group of Companies executive director, while ESG was represented by Prof Cheah Kok Hoong.
