JHT Semiconductor Sdn Bhd, a specialist in advanced integrated circuit test handlers, officially opened its new facility in Batu Kawan Industrial Park (BKIP) today.

 

The grand opening ceremony was officiated by Bukit Tambun assemblyman and InvestPenang director Goh Choon Aik.

 

In his speech, Goh congratulated JHT Semiconductor on this remarkable achievement, highlighting the significance of the event for both the company and the region.

“Your decision to establish this facility in Batu Kawan reinforces investor confidence in Penang’s robust industrial landscape and its crucial role in the global semiconductor sector,” he said.

 

Goh also acknowledged the collective efforts of various stakeholders, including government agencies such as the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida), private enterprises, and local communities, in making Penang a premier destination for high-tech industries.

 

According to Goh, JHT Semiconductor’s diverse product portfolio demonstrates its commitment to high-precision semiconductor testing technology.

 

He further emphasised Batu Kawan Industrial Park’s strategic advantages, including world-class infrastructure and a strong industrial network, making it an attractive destination for companies focused on innovation and sustainable growth.

 

“JHT Semiconductor’s investment in BKIP reflects not only confidence in our state’s industrial capacity but also a shared vision for strengthening Malaysia’s position in the global semiconductor industry.

Also present during the opening ceremony were Chinese vice consul-general in Penang Madam Ding Qiao, Mida Penang director Muhammad Ghaddaffi Sardar Mohamed and Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA) president Datuk Seri Wong Siew Hai.
