Be mindful and avoid another MCO, urges Bukit Gelugor MP

EVERYONE should play their part responsibly in tackling the Covid-19 threat to avoid another round of movement control order (MCO).

Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh said the people play a pivotal role to avoid another partial lockdown.

“Although there is no MCO at the moment, we must strive our best in combating the virus.

Ramkarpal speaking to reporters after distributing face masks and sanitisers in Air Itam market.

“The MCO will definitely have a negative impact on everyone if it is reintroduced.

“Hence, I hope the people will continue to take preventive measures by adhering to the necessary standard operating procedures (SOPs).

“This is because the virus pandemic is still with us,” he told reporters after distributing packets of face mask and hand sanitisers to market-goers in the Air Itam Market today.

Ramkarpal also took the opportunity by wishing everyone a “Happy Malaysia Day” during the walkabout.

Joining him was Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng Soon Siang, who also concurred with Ramkarpal.

He urged the people to stay vigilant as the pandemic was not over yet.

“Everyone needs to be alert and adhere to the SOPs,” he said.

Ng also praised the multiracial society in the country for living in unity as the people celebrated Malaysia Day today.

“Malaysia is unique as it is rich with diverse cultural backgrounds,” he added.
