GIVEN the scheduled water cut in Penang from Jan 10 to Jan 14 next year, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abd Rashid has advised her constituents to proactively store water in advance to mitigate the impact of water disruption.
“We need to prepare for the upcoming 96-hour water cut as announced by the state government earlier.
“Our priority is to assist residents who may encounter water disruption issues.
“It is important for everyone, especially in Bukit Bendera parliamentary, to stay vigilant regarding the scheduled water cut,” she said at a press conference in Padang Tembak today.
The 96-hour continuous water disruption is essential to carry out valve replacement works at the Sungai Dua Water Treatment Plant.
Kebun Bunga assemblyman Lee Boon Heng, who was present, assured that his team would be deploying drinking water to the affected areas.
“From my assessment, Mount Erskine, Hong Seng Estate, and Kebun Bunga will be affected by the water cut. Hence, we should remain alert and make necessary preparations,” he said.
In an earlier announcement, Syerleena disclosed a total of RM544,343 allocation for infrastructure upgrading works at her constituency.
This allocation is meant to upgrade the school’s facilities and to improve the basic infrastructure within the Bukit Bendera parliamentary.
