SNOOKER and billiards are sports that require critical thinking and foster a competitive spirit while promoting sportsmanship among the players during tournaments.

Dismissing misconception that these sports are unhealthy, state Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi pointed out their positive impact, highlighting their role in uniting people.

“In fact, snooker and billiards are well-regarded sporting events that contribute to creating a healthy image.

“We hope more youngsters take up these activities,” he said while officiating the Penang Ranking Snooker Championship 2024 Leg 4 competition held at the newly opened billiards and snooker centre for northern region in Bayan Lepas.

The championship saw the winner walk away with RM4,000 and a trophy.
