FEEDING the needy with good food is one way of bringing joy to them, says Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim.
Lim said this during the launch of a feeding programme, called ‘Love In The Community of Penang, Generously Donate A Bento Meal Box & Create Happy Life’, today at Karpal Singh Drive.
The programme is a collaborative effort between D’Fish Story and the GST Group Sdn Bhd. It is supported by Lim’s service centre.
“Through this programme, we will be giving out 100 meal boxes daily to the families from low income group in the Sungai Pinang constituency.
“The food, which will be prepared for dinner, will be distributed by Sungai Pinang Village Community Management Council (MPKK) to the concerned families.
“We want to bring cheer to those families who have been affected financially due to the Covid-19 pandemic by providing them free meals,” said Lim during the launch of the programme.
Meanwhile, D’Fish Story representative Lee Chan Wai said a total of 2,000 meal boxes would be distributed throughout the programme.
“Food will be prepared at our restaurant and then it will be delivered to YB Lim’s office to be distributed to the deserving family.
“As for now, we will be distributing a total of 2,000 meal boxes for 20 days, but if we get more sponsors then we could do it for many more days.
“We look forward to well wishers and more sponsors joining us to feed the needy, as Penangites are always generous when it comes to charity,” added Lee.
Also present during the launch was GST Group managing director Paul Goh.
