ENTOPIA, a noted butterfly farm in Penang, is back to business and is offering interesting packages to Penangites.
According to its chief executive officer Joseph Goh, Entopia is strictly following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) since reopening to public on June 12 and has come up with loads of fun activities especially for families.
“We now have a new programme here called the ‘Entopia Fun Hour,’ which allows the visitors to perceive the world of butterflies and insects in depth and spend quality family time.
“Under this programme, we have activities such as ‘Bugs Breeder’, ‘Crawlies Alive’, and ‘My Butterfly Garden’ which will definitely be a good experience for all.
“Upon resuming our operations, we are receiving around 170 visitors per day. Prior to the movement control order (MCO), we used to have 500 visitors per day and even 1,000 on weekend,’’ said Goh.
Entopia, through its ‘Penang-Kia Day’ package, is giving Penangites a 50% discount for the entrance with tickets now costing RM24 instead of RM49 for adults and RM14 instead of RM29 for children and senior citizens.
“The special promotion is for all days (weekdays and weekends) until the end of the year and we hope that Penangites would seize this great deal offered by Entopia,’’ he said.
Meanwhile, state Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage Yeoh Soon Hin who visited the farm on June 15, said that it is important for tourism players to adhere to the SOPs for Penang to stay as green zone.
“We are here today to ensure that tourism players are complying with the SOPs and precautionary measures.
“This is very important to make sure that we can retain Penang green zone status and prevent another Covid-19 wave. This is a role that everyone needs to be responsible for.
“During the lockdown, my office has been working closely with the industry players to enhance the SOPs in order to be ready to receive visitors,” he said during his visit.
Yeoh was taken on a tour of the farm by Goh and his team whereby they briefed him on the butterflies and other insects found at Entopia.
Entopia’s chief of sales and marketing May Ang said those who visit the farm would get to learn the importance of insects and the role that they play in our ecosystem.
“Those interested can visit our website at https://www.entopia.com/ or our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/myentopia/ to find out about the programmes that we are conducting currently.
“We are open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9am to 6pm and last entry is at 5pm. So come and have a good time here,’’ Ang said.
