THE residents of the Tanjong constituency took a valuable break yesterday morning (Oct 29) to prioritise their well-being, participating in a health carnival held at a community hall in Lebuh Macallum.

The health carnival, a collaborative effort between the Tanjong parliamentary and Pengkalan Kota service centres, as well as various other relevant organizations, had a primary goal of promoting health awareness.

Tanjong MP Lim Hui Ying expressed her satisfaction at witnessing constituents embracing the significance of health check-ups.

She emphasised the importance of maintaining good health to prevent potential complications.

“We need to take care of our health to prevent any complications which may arise later,” she said.

Lim also highlighted the services provided at the event, including traditional Chinese medicine services and complimentary cholesterol and blood sugar screenings.

Notably, she distributed coupons worth RM150 to the first 50 primary school students, enabling them to acquire eyeglasses.

Penang Social Development, Welfare and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim, who is also the Sungai Pinang assemblyman, commended the success of the health carnival.

She underlined the event’s crucial role in educating people about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Among those present were Penang Island City Council (MBPP) councillors Alan Lim and Benji Ang.
