A MERDEKA-themed blood donation drive took place at St John Ambulance in Air Itam today, drawing regular donors eager to replenish the blood bank supply.

Initiated by various parties, including the Lions Club of George Town Central, St John Ambulance of Malaysia, the Air Itam Service Centre, the Batu Lanchang Youth Committee, and other relevant authorities, the drive aimed to encourage more people to contribute to this vital act of kindness.

Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng, who was among the blood donors, expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the drive on such a significant day.

“Coincidentally with our nation’s Independence Day, this is a remarkable opportunity to donate blood and support those in need.

“So far, 38 pints of blood have been collected, and we aim to have 100 by 4pm today.
