Charis Hospice Charity Hunt gets good response

CHARIS Hospice Penang has received a very good response to its 10th Charity Hunt at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre on March 4 (Saturday).

This year’s Charity Hunt, themed ‘Together We Care & Share’, will have two activities – the Motor Hunt and the Walk Hunt.

The Motor Hunt will see 50 teams competing against each other to solve clues and complete challenges throughout the city while driving their own vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Walk Hunt will have 100 teams exploring the city on foot and taking part in various challenges along the way.

Organising chairman Mah Ting Keong said Charis Hospice hopes to raise RM200,000 from the Charity Hunt, comprising both the Motor Hunt and Walk Hunt, after not being able to hold the annual event for the past three years due to Covid-19.

Apart from Mah, the Charis Hospice Penang board of directors’ chairman Lee Khai, founder and medical director Dr Oo Loo Chan, board director Kew Chii Shiang, huntmaster Jay Menon, staff members and volunteers have been working very hard to ensure a smooth programme.

Founded in 2004, Charis Hospice is a non-profit organisation providing free palliative home care services for patients with advanced cancer and other advanced life-threatening illnesses in Penang Island, irrespective of race and religion. Services are provided by a team of trained professionals (doctors and nurses) and volunteers.

The event will be flagged off at Setia SPICE Convention Centre Rooftop Garden.

It promises to be a day filled with fun, excitement, and charitable giving, as all proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the work of Charis Hospice Penang.
