CHARIS Hospice Penang in Air Itam today has come up with a photography contest to raise public awareness about palliative care, as well as raise funds for its operations.
The contest, which is known as the ‘Everyday Heroes Charity Photo Contest 2022’, will be held from March 21 to 26.
Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng, who was present, said the charity photo contest was important to raise funds and create public awareness of palliative care.
“I hope more participants will be joining in the event, which will help Charis Hospice to raise RM150,000 for this campaign.
“This will at least assist the charity organisation and to keep it going.
“This contest is open to all age groups with an interest in showcasing their photography skills.
“The interpretation of what ‘Everyday Heroes’ means can be depicted in photos thorough ‘Illness, Life and Love’, or observation and experience of ‘Life during Covid-19 Pandemic’,” he said.
Also present were the Board of Directors chairman Lee Khai and organising committee chairman Mah Ting Keong.
Among the sponsors for the contest are OCBC Bank (M) Berhad, Pentamaster Corporation Bhd, ViTrox Technologies Sdn Bhd, Genesis IVF, Grant Thornton Malaysia, Inari Amertron Bhd and Ebibca Sdn Bhd.
