EIGHTY Honda motorcycle owners were all smiles when their motorcycles were given free inspection and maintenance services under a special programme initiated by the Honda Boon Siew at the Bukit Bendera MPKK Hall recently.
According to Boon Siew Honda after-sales department general manager Kohei Yukawa, who is based in Penang, this was part of his company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to ease the burdens of their customers.
“Bearing in mind the difficulties faced by the people during the Covid-19 crisis, Boon Siew Honda has initiated a programme that offers free inspection and maintenance services for Honda motorcycles.
“We have brought our team consisting 15 technicians to check the conditions of the motorcycles and do the necessary maintenance and repair work.
“Our intention is very simple, that is to overcome the Covid-19 crisis together and at the same time give our support to the people in Malaysia,’’ said Yukawa during his visit to the Bukit Bendera MPKK Hall where the programme was held on July 18.
Air Putih assemblyman Lim Guan Eng, who was also present, commended Honda for being thoughtful of the community during the pandemic.
“Each motorcycle owner is entitled to a maximum of RM200 worth of maintenance work; this is indeed a great effort from Honda and I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks to them,” said Lim.
“Aside from that, I hope that the Federal Government will consider extending the moratorium (bank loan repayments) which will end on Sept 30 to another six months.
“This was also done in Japan and it will help people here to rebuild their livelihood.
“The essential thing is to save businesses which would eventually help save jobs. We must give priority to this.
“We need to take preventive measures to safeguard the economy. If there is a second wave, it will definitely affect our country’s economy badly.’’
