THE appointments of the three deputy ministers from Penang to the Cabinet have been lauded by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

When asked by a reporter about the appointments of Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim (Finance Ministry), Tanjong MP Lim Hui Ying (Education) and Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh (Law and Institutional Reforms in Prime Minister’s Department), Chow said the decision by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was welcomed.

“I hope they can carry out their tasks diligently and effectively to serve the people in the country in their respective portfolios.

“I believe they can strive further to solve the unresolved issues in their respective portfolios and bring betterment to the community.

“In Penang, we will ensure the constituents in their constituencies are well taken care of,” he said after launching the ‘Blank Canvas: Mural Art Series’ in Batu Uban today.

Anwar yesterday announced a list of 27 deputy ministers for his unity government, seven days after naming his Cabinet ministers.
