PRIOR to the end of the second phase of the movement control order (MCO) today, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow took the chance to visit Flex Ltd (Plant 5) at Nagasari, Perai.
The visit was to see how the factory’s production was operating during the MCO period.
Chow, who arrived at about 4pm, had his temperature checked at the entrance before he was taken to a meeting room for a short briefing.
With him were state Domestic and International Trade, Consumer Affairs and Entrepreneur Development Committee Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud.
During the 20-minute briefing, Chow, Abdul Halim and Rozali were briefed on the company’s direction and its operation during the MCO.
Besides that, the company also spoke about its initiatives and the strict measures taken, which include social distancing.
Chow and the guests were told that the company gave additional incentives to the staff who were working.
The session was conducted by Flex Penang vice-president P. Viswanathan.
Before leaving, Chow, Abdul Halim and Rozali were taken on a tour of the production area.
Also present were Flex Penang Plant 5 general manager E.C. Tang, the company Information Technology (IT) vice-president S.N. Lee and Program Management Business Operations Support director Chew Pay Fern.
