CM Chow appointed Penang National Security Council chairman

CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow has been appointed as the chairman of the Penang National Security Council with effect from Aug 23 this year.

 

Chow expressed his sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for entrusting him with the responsibility of overseeing the maintenance of peace and security at the state level.

 

Chow added that the working committee serves as a platform for discussion and planning of the direction and execution of security-related work in Penang.

 

Chow says he appreciates the cooperation and input from all committee members.

 

“Therefore, the cooperation and input of all working committee members are highly appreciated,” Chow said when he conducted a state-level security council working committee meeting in Komtar today.

 

 

Furthermore, Chow also welcomed the newly appointed National Security Council, Penang director Asa’ari Zainudin, who replaces Jalil Husni Yahaya, who is currently serving in the Public Services Department.

 

Asa’ari, 45, previously served as an assistant director for the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) at the Prime Minister’s office and held several chief assistant director roles in federal government ministries at Putrajaya.

 

Some of the attendees at the state-level security council meeting, which was chaired by Chow, in Komtar today.

 

Also present during the meeting was newly appointed State Secretary Datuk Rosli Isa. He replaced Datuk Mohd Sayuthi Bakar, who has been appointed secretary general of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living.
