CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow is proud of the Penang government’s achievements from 2018 until now.
He said that the state has achieved various feats and has implemented numerous initiatives for the people.
“I would give an ‘A-‘ rating for the state’s performance for these five years. There is still room for improvement and I can assure you that the state is committed to serving the people.
“I would say that most of the promises made have been fulfilled, and we strive to ensure the state is on the right track to achieve more success.
“The Penang2030 vision, which is also the state’s initiative since 2018, has been accelerated to lift Penang to greater heights.
“We have achieved 47% of the Penang2030 vision’s strategic initiatives,” he said in his speech during a dinner at Chai Leng Park before presenting RM45,000 contribution to 17 temples and Phor Thor associations in Perai constituency.
Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy, who is also the Perai assemblyman, gave RM30,000 to the temples and associations.
On the investments front, Chow said the state had attracted various investments from abroad.
On the various infrastructure projects meant for the public, Chow said the Penang International Airport expansion plan and a better transportation system to ease traffic congestion were being mooted.
“We hope for sustainable development in Seberang Perai,” he said.
Among those present during the dinner were state Welfare and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh, state Social Development and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Chong Eng, state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee, Bagan Dalam assemblyman M. Satees, and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) councillor David Marshel.
