PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow had an audience with the Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak this morning to seek consent to dissolve the State Legislative Assembly.

The state official car for the chief minister entered the Seri Mutiara gate at 8am.

Seri Mutiara is the official residence of the Penang Governor.

Later on, outside the main gate of Seri Mutiara, Chow told reporters who have been waiting there that Ahmad Fuzi has give his consent and signed the proclamation to dissolve the State Legislative Assembly.

“The effective date of the dissolution is tomorrow (June 28).

“I am relieved that all of this is over, so we can now look forward to prepare for the state election and the date is to be determined by the Election Commission (EC),” he said.

It is learnt that Chow, who is also the Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, will hold a special press conference later in the afternoon at Komtar, after the audience.
