PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has rejected the proposal by academician Edmund Terence Gomez to include representatives from the Opposition and non-governmental organisation (NGO) in the monitoring committee; set up to oversee the Chief Minister Incorporated (CMI) Penang.
Chow said that the CMI is a government-linked company and does not have a Board of Directors.
“The monitoring committee is set up to receive report, approve projects and monitor CMI’s performance.
“It is an internal matter and we will table any report (when) necessary,” he told a press conference in Komtar today.
The monitoring committee will be headed by Chow and consists of Deputy Chief Ministers Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman and Prof Dr P. Ramasamy, State Secretary Datuk Seri Farizan Darus and State Financial Officer Datuk Sarul Bahiyah Abu.
