CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow and his entourage today paid their last respects to a veteran journalist at the Paya Terubong funeral parlour here.
Arriving at about 4pm, Chow and those present spent about 30 minutes at the wake, offering words of comfort to Teoh Hang Chong’s family.
Teoh passed away yesterday (May 11). He was 61.
The cortege will leave for Batu Gantong crematorium at 11am on Saturday.
Teoh was a veteran journalist for a Chinese daily before his passing. He was also active in politics.
Among those present were Chow’s political secretary Teh Lai Heng, who is the Komtar assemblyman, state Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin, who is the Paya Terubong assemblyman, Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng, Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi, and Chow’s special assistant Lai Hon Meng.
