CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow has called on the Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) to aid the local community.
“I hope that all 92 MPKKs in the northeast district of Penang will play their role in solving problems faced by the community.
“We have 92 MPKKs in the northeast district now, as compared to 81 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) in the past.
“Please help us to achieve Penang2030 by giving us your 100% commitment,” he said before presenting the credential letters to the northeast district MPKKs at Dewan Sri Pinang on February 19.
Chow said the state would fund the 92 MPKKs with an annual allocation of RM1,002,800.
He said that the state valued the sacrifices of the MPKKs.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman and northeast district officer Rosli Halim.
