CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow and his delegation today paid their last respects to the late Datuk David Fong, a veteran member of the Penang chapter of the Real Estate Housing Developers’ Association (Rehda).
Arriving at about 5pm in Batu Gantong Funeral Parlour, Chow was accompanied by state executive councillors, state assemblymen and Rehda Penang members.
They were greeted by Fong’s family members before paying their last respects.
Spending almost half-an-hour at the wake, Chow was seen offering words of condolences to Fong’s family.
Other visitors, who were present, also conveyed their words of comfort to Fong’s family.
Also seen during the wake were Rehda Penang chairman Tan Hun Beng, Rehda Penang immediate past president Datuk Toh Chin Leong, and former Rehda Penang chairman Datuk Jerry Chan.
Fong, who had contributed a lot of ideas and initiatives to Rehda Penang chapter, died at the age of 58 after collapsing during a trail hike on Sunday.
His funeral service will be held in Batu Gantong Funeral Parlour at 2pm tomorrow before the cortege leaves for burial at the Mount Erskine Cemetery.
