Coffee and Desserts in Penang

PENANG Coffee and Desserts Festival 2015 was a heavenly showcase to those dedicated to celebrate the burgeoning in special coffee and dessert scene in Penang.

Some 5,000 people went for the event which was held over two days from Nov 27 till 29 in Penang On 6, Gurney Paragon Mall. It was officiated by assemblymember for Pulau Tikus, Yap Soo Huey on Nov 27.

“I’m glad to find out that the festival features more than 20 exhibitors showcasing and sampling a wide range of their latest products. It promises to be a weekend that dedicates itself to coffee and celebrates cafe culture which is something that Penang has happily taken under its wing in recent years” said Yap during her speech.

Over the past years, the coffee sector has changed tremendously in Penang and new markets are developing in emerging economies to fuel an ever growing demand.

Penang today is one of the most dynamic, progressive and competitive states in Malaysia. As it is known that the participation and continuous investment of many multinational companies especially in the electronic industry has grown and fames Penang as ‘The Silicon Valley of the East’.

Throughout the 3 day event, there were different types of workshops, seminars and activities which were open for the public.
