ELIGIBLE Penangites are urged to come out in full force to cast their votes tomorrow (Aug 12) to determine the future of Penang for the next five years, says caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Chow, who is also the state Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said every vote is important to ensure PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) could form a unity government in Penang.
“Every vote counts. So, you should not underestimate the power of your vote as you are the real kingmaker who will decide the future of Penang for the next five years.
“It is important for the PH-BN coalition to win so that we can continue to lead Penang with good governance and policy.
“Therefore, I would like to urge Penang voters to use this golden opportunity to give their solid votes to the PH-BN coalition.
“Let us vote wisely and choose the PH-BN coalition as the next state government in Penang,” Chow told a huge crowd during the Pakatan Harapan mega ceramah near Raja Uda Business Centre in Butterworth tonight.
Also present were Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) Deputy Minister Liew Chin Tong, Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh, who is also the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reforms), Bagan Jermal PH candidate Chee Yeeh Keen and Sungai Puyu PH candidate Phee Syn Tze.
Chow is confident that the PH-BN coalition could form a unity government in Penang after the state election.
“I am also confident that we can win at least 30 seats to form a stable state government with a two-thirds majority. We are confident to achieve that.
“This will all be possible if we can have the highest voter turnout like in the previous general election. Then, our probability to win big is high.
“I urge Penangites to give their strongest support to the PH-BN coalition by coming out to vote tomorrow,” he said.
