PENANG has about seven years to realise the Penang2030 vision.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he had rolled out a vision to develop the state after just three months of being the Penang Chief Minister, back in 2018.
“Several targets under the Penang2030 vision were set to enable Penang to achieve great things, which is in line with my responsibility as the Chief Minister.
“I have to fulfil my responsibility and I look forward to seeing Penang rise to greater heights,” he said before opening the Paya Terubong Penang2030 centre at Relau today.
The Penang2030 vision focuses on improving livability, economy, civic participation, and balanced development to achieve a ‘Family-Focused, Green, and Smart State that Inspires the Nation’.
Chow said job opportunities, economic and social developments, and the people’s quality of life remain the state government’s priority.
“We are confident that this 12-year plan (Penang2030 vision), which was initiated back in 2018, is achievable,” he said.
Chow also expressed his gratitude to all the stakeholders involved in assisting the state towards the Penang2030 vision.
“It requires the effort and hard work from all the relevant agencies and local communities to realise the Penang2030 vision,” he said.
Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin, who earlier delivered his speech, said the Penang2030 centre promotes community participation in realising the Penang2030 vision.
“The centre can be used as an interaction platform with the community,” he said.
Both Chow and Yeoh also distributed basic necessities to needy families at the end of the event.
