TWENTY individuals with diverse disabilities, such as visual impairment, autism spectrum disorder and Down syndrome, are set to inspire audiences through music, dance and vocal performances.

Scheduled to take place on Dec 21 from 3pm to 5.30pm at Auditorium A, Komtar. the “Ku Boleh Ku Gemilang’ musical concert aims to showcase that disabilities are not obstacles to creativity, passion, or excellence.

State Social Development, Welfare, and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim emphasised that the concert is not merely an artistic performance but also a platform to raise awareness and promote equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

“Let it serve as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to build an inclusive society that values and supports everyone, irrespective of their unique abilities.

“It is a call to action for greater accessibility, compassion, and opportunities for individuals with diverse needs.

This concert is organised through a collaboration between Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang (PWMPP), Creativity At Heart, and the National Family Support Group.

Lim also shared that, as of Dec 6, a total of 41,267 individuals with disabilities are registered in Penang under the Welfare Department.

“These numbers represent more than data; they reflect a diverse community that deserves respect, recognition, and equal opportunities to thrive,” she added.

PWMPP chairman Madam Tan Lean Kee, who is also the wife of Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, announced a contribution of RM3,000 from the organisation to support the event.

“This concert is a beautiful celebration of courage, talent, and determination. It reminds us of the importance of creating spaces where every individual, regardless of their abilities, can shine and inspire.
