Continue to reach out to the people, state rep and councillors told

PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has advised the Pakatan Harapan assemblymen and local councillors to continue engaging the community.

“The councillors and state elected representatives have been tirelessly reaching out to the people.

“It is important that we continue our efforts and to implement pro-people policies and projects. We cannot be complacent and rest on our laurels,” Chow replying to a question during the press conference in Komtar today.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was quoted as saying that his ruling coalition could be a one-term government if it does not make changes and stop infighting.

Chow, in his response, said the Prime Minister’s advice was a qualified statement as the latter mentioned ‘if it does not make changes and stop infighting’.

“This is a signal for all to buck up. We take note of the kind advice from the Prime Minister. I believe that all component parties in Pakatan Harapan must buck up – collectively and individually.

“As for the DAP, we will continue to listen to the voices of the people and play our role as the major component of Pakatan Harapan.

“We shall use internal channel to get consensus in government and in party so that any challenges such as issues that affect our level of support can be addressed effectively,” he said.
