THE Penang Island City Council (MBPP) will be delivering its report on the Bukit Kukus landslide incident this week.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state has instructed the council to present its report.
“The investigation by the special committee set up by the state government to investigate the landslide at Bukit Kukus has been completed and handed over to the executive councillors. We have received the report from Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman, who chaired the committee.
“We are now waiting for the MBPP to present its findings before we make any decision.
“The investigations by the police and Federal agencies are out of our control. We hope that they can complete their investigations soon,” he told a press conference after a public servants assembly at Komtar today.
Chow hoped that the stop work order could be lifted soon.
“The council will be asked to take the necessary actions as according to the recommendations by the authorities before the project continues,” he added.
