FOR instilling the spirit of patriotism and love for the homeland, a cycling programme was held in conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebration from Sept 15 to 18.
Penang became the first destination when Padang Kota Lama was chosen as the starting point for the cycling event on Sept 15.
About 70 participants cycled around the island spanning about 90km on Sept 15, while on Sept 16, they rode about 105km from Bukit Mertajam to Kuala Kangsar.
On Sept 17, they resumed their journey from Kuala Kangsar to Tapah for about 103km and today (Sept 18), the final route is 70km from Tapah to Tanjung Malim.
The Penang Island City Council (MBPP), which is involved in the event, wishes the riders a safe, happy and enjoyable trip.
