CYCLING enthusiasts are welcome to join the upcoming cycling event, ‘Ride for Sight 2024,’ on June 15.

The cycling event is organised by St Nicholas’ Home in partnership with Howei, Starway Design & Printing, Penang First Responder Ambulance Service, Penang Marshall Bikerz Community, Brook and Queensbay Mall.

It is endorsed by the Penang government, Penang State Sports Council (MSNPP) and Penang Island City Council (MBPP).

St Nicholas’ Home general manager Carmen Chew Kah Mun said the cycling event will also include the participation of the blind and visually impaired individuals from the St Nicholas’ Home.

She said Ride For Sight 2024 invites cyclists of all walks of life to join forces with visually impaired participants and their sighted pilots for an unforgettable cycling experience.

“Ride for Sight 2024 is a unique and heartwarming cycling event aimed at raising awareness and support for the visually impaired community. This event promises a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit.

“The event will start at Queensbay Mall and follow a scenic 22-kilometre route, providing participants with a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of Penang while supporting a meaningful cause.

“The funds raised from the event will also go directly towards supporting the programmes and services of St Nicholas’ Home.

“Thus, your participation and support will help continue the mission of promoting healthy living and supporting the visually impaired community,” Chew told a press conference at St Nicholas’ Home in Pulau Tikus today.

Also present was Penang Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen.

Gooi encouraged more people to join the cycling event, saying that he will also be there to support the event.
